Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 141 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 141 | I recently purchased a complete drive train from what was a 1937 1/2 ton that worked for the National forest Fire department. It had overload springs on it.
I have a 1937 GMC half ton. It has the same rear axle and springs. I was thinking of putting the overloads on my 37.
I have the orriginal parts book for 1937 GMC and they don't show that the overload or "auxillary" spring was even availabel on a half ton GMC.
Does anyone here have the 1937 parts book for Chevy that they can look at and see if it lists the overload spring as an option from the factory.
I'm trying to figure out if I was a farmer in 1937 if I could have ordered these springs from the dealer. Also curious why my book shows nothing?
Thanks. Dan
