The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot '60-'66 Trucks 1966 Short Wheel Base Fleetside

New to Stovebolt and new to auto restoration. I just purchased a 48 1/2 ton Chevy Pickup that had been modified with the frame/bed shortened. All wheels are 12 lugs and the 216 has been replaced w/a 235. Appears someone cut the frame about where the bench seat would start, and attached the rear end/rear frame from a 1 ton or so. Has double rear springs with a huge rear end and a 4 speed column trans, with a granny gear that could pull out tree stumps. I don't want the heavy stuff, looking to do a frame off and will post pics when I figure how to do it. Wonder if anyone knows of a club/group of old chevy guys in the Conroe/Woodlands,N. Houston,Tx area?
