The Military under rated trucks, so unless that truck is a 400 series(which i don't think it is), it more than likely is a 450 series 3 ton, or 470 series 3 1/2 ton. The 400 series GMC trucks are rated by GM as 2 1/2 ton trucks. 400 series GMC trucks from 47-54 were standard with Dayton wheels, so your truck having motor disc has me leaning towards 450, or 470 series. If you get back by again check the back of the glove box lid, or factory ID plate in the driver door jamb, for the rated gvw.
