Changing the rear to an open driveline gives you many more transmission options. The current rear can be converted to open with a 1955-1962 chevy truck differential. Of course some welding will be necessary. If you can find the 55.1 chevy /gmc 1/2 ton rear with springs It will be a direct bolt in to your truck and give you the open driveline. No welding required.
