Well, off and on I've been trying to get a hood on a 50 Chevy 1/2 ton to close properly. Someone else did the body work, and was having trouble getting the hood to go down as it should on the passenger side hinge.

Today I was trying my hand at it again. Finally, out of the corner of my eye, I see a slight crease in the right hand reinforcement brace that goes from the center of the hood to where the hinge attaches.

Backing off and looking I finally saw why the hood would not do what I wanted on the passenger side. The crease in the brace was enough that it it pulling the outer edge of the hood in just a bit. Enough that the hood wants to spring up at the cowl seal just inside of where the brace is bent.

I have gone nuts trying to get this hood to set right. The drivers side does well, but after seeing the brace, I think it will have to straightened some how, or replaced.

Any way, I just hadn't seen this slight crease before today. So if anyone else has trouble getting one side of the hood down, take a second and look to see if that brace is slightly bent.

Thanks, just had to vent. ARggg
