I was on the way home from getting a couple of odds and ends from my FLAPS today and noticed a small section of roof missing from a neighbors barn. Stopped in briefly to offer a hand with repairs or any tools he might need.
Come to find out that Horace, the property owner, was renting out part of the barn to a man whom ran a small machine shop there for about 6 years. Some time ago, the renter left off with a woman to another part of the country, with no intention of returning. Horaces' letters to the man were returned with a note, " Sell off whatever is needed to cover rent overdue"
Well,.... I picked up a very nice Bridgeport mill with all the tooling, as well as a nice Lathe with lots of tooling also.
If anyone is interested I will be there tomorrow and the next day helping Horace sort out the rest of the equipment, making lists of serial numbers and specs so he can list them for sale on different websites. I saw about 4 surface grinders, a few arbor presses, a large punch press, and some job specific machines. Horace is only interested in getting back the overdue rent and making the space available to re-rent. So the prices are very affordable. Brian
