| | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 564 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 564 | I spotted what looks like a '50s truck or Suburban bench seat at a junkyard. The seat frame was made of tubing, and was an external frame with cushions on springs--the spring beds were like the Chevy's of the '50s and early '60s, with the coil springs and "X"'d springs tying all the coils together.
The spring bed on the seat back was hinged at the top of the frame--the whole seat back swung forward/up, like you'd be able to reach through to a storage compartment or something behind the seat.
There were rubber bumpers at the top of the seat frame.
Does this sound familiar for anyone?
