Alright folks. I ordered a signal/hazard switch from Jim Carters, and I'm not happy with it at all. It’s silver and just attaches to your steering column. Anyway, I hooked it all up and it worked great, no problems, until I took the truck out for a short drive. When I got home and pulled into my driveway I turned the signal on and heard a pop, and a puff of smoke came out of the flasher body. I took the unit apart and found that the housing which I thought was metal is actually plastic. No big deal I don’t mind. Then I found that the wire attaching to the indicator bulb inside the housing had come off and shorted. I tried to reattach it by soldering it, but it happened again. I now realize that when you move the lever to turn, the wire gets bent and once you do it enough times the wire will simply break off.
Now I’m wondering where you folks get your signals from, and do you like 'em?
P.S. everything else I ordered from Jim Carters is great, no gripes there.
