I am sure this will be the first of many asking for help!
1958 Chevy Apache. All stock.
It had been sitting in a barn for 30 years.
I put a new battery on it for grins the day I brought it home. The lights worked, horn worked, engine would turn over.
Did the following:
Pulled the tank and thoroughly cleaned it.
Cleaned all the gas lines.
Rebuilt the carb.
New wires, plugs, points, etc.
Replaced the ground on the battery.
Checked all fluids (all are getting flushed)
Cleaned the fuel pump.
Put in fresh gas.
Put the battery back on, and it acts like a battery is not even hooked up. No lights, horn, etc.
I pulled the battery and charged it.
Two things I can think of:
I accidentally left the ignition switch on the few weeks while too busy to play with it.....maybe burned it up?
I replaced the battery ground with one from Walmart. I used the original bolts. Maybe that is in issue?
