If the truck is going to be a daily driver and/or it will have several add-on electrical accessories, an alternator would be a better choice, but I'd suggest the 10 SI model with the built-in regulator. They're more reliable than the external-regulator model, and the wiring hookup is a lot simpler to do. MSD is a gimmick unless you're racing- - - -RUN, do not walk away from that system!
