Thanks for the confirmation that I have a Consensual Perception of Reality, Wayne. I was beginning to be a little concerned.
I took the steering box/column to my FLAPS and asked a Fella in the Machine Shop if hthey could straighten the column as it comes out of the housing. He said they'd give it a try.
I'll let you all know the outcome.
