Hi All,
Well, 10 years after having to part with my 46chev and 54 gmc3/4, a 1953 3100 deluxe cab followed me home.
It was an offer I couldn't refuse. Just when I thought I was out, they pulls me back in. This thing of ours.
What sold me was the cab and doors condition. Somebody brought this one back from the southwest, then left it out in the yard in VA for a year or so. Surface rust, but so far, I have only found two < 1/2" holes in the floor kick area. Otherwise very solid, with original 216, 4 speed. All original clutch head screws and hubcaps in place. A 1/2 " layer of "that stuff" covers all the engine and trans - you all know that mix of oil, tar, dirt and barn gum. Minuses - engine stuck ("may run" says the P.O.), no brakes, rear fenders and front bumper dented or split, needs windows, seat and tailgate.
But that's what makes if fun, am I right fellas?
