If you've got a spare electrical junction box around, the nickel-sized knockout plug for a 1/2" Romex connector is just the right size to epoxy onto the top of the switch to give it a little more stroke. Use J-B Weld or something similar to stick the spacer to the top of the switch button. (A nickel would work, also!)
