For your manifold I would suggest removing it from the engine and seperate the intake from exhaust so you can better work on the heat valve and free it up.

I had to put the intake/exhaust manifold to see the results and take a few pics for the photo album.
I have sprayed the flap with penetrating lubrication spay but that thing will not budge. It looks like the side where the spring is located is fused. The side where the counter weight is at, the spray goes threw. I was thinking of just soaking it for the week and tap it with a hammer this weekend.
Do I really need this flap or can I leave it open? I know that it used to warm up the intake to a point.
