Thought I'd add to this old thread rather than create a new one. Here's what I came up with to have a foot starter with my 250/200-4R in my 57 3100. I used a foot starter switch for a tractor (
Tractor Supply #0236643}. It will bolt to the floor and fit through the hole for the stock linkage. I built an adapter to allow me to attach the stock foot pedal to the switch.

After installing the rubber boot over it, it should look nearly stock.
