Can you remove the part from the gauges? If so, then a Superclean soak should do it. Use it straight from the jug, don't cut it. A bit of warning, if the part has any vacuum metalized "chrome" on it, Superclean will remove it. It will also damage/dissolve any aluminum or die-cast parts. I've removed fully fured Krylon, as well as several other brands of spray paint (some even had primer under them) using Superclean. Most of the parts were opaque plastic, but some were clear, never had a problem with the transparency being comprimised.
