Tony, I don't see why not. The drain system is designed (poorly) to remove water that accumulates in the slider window channels.
Drain Unfortunately they did not figure in leaves and dirt, this all goes into a short hose that drops it into the bottom sheet metal. When the debris sits for awhile it ends up clogging the small drain hole in the sheet metal, hence we get lots of rust out in these areas. There are no other drain systems that use this channel, so closing it up and sealing it will not be an issue.
