The late '47-early '51 GMCs used an electric temp gauge, rather than the Chevy-style capillary tube. Does this 6 volt gauge require a special sender, or does it use the same one as the post-'55 trucks? When converting to a 12 volt system, will it need a voltage reducer like the gas gauge?

Bonus question - Do the '55-'59 electric GMC temp gauges measure the same range as the '54-'55 capillary tube gauges? The later ones just said 'Hot' or 'Cold' rather than showing an actual temperature, and if they display the same range, I'm going to use the earlier decal.
