#88506 09/02/2004 11:56 PM | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 | To test for a bad sender on my 70 chevy I just removed the sender wire from the sender and grounded the wire to the motor with the key in the on position. The gauge went to hot so I knew it was a bad sender. If the guage still didn't read it would have either been a bad gauge or a bad wire from the gauge to the sender since the gauge had power to it.
