Well, all I need to say is, what a fantastic weekend! For the first time in a long time mother nature blessed us with perfect weather for the 8th annual Tri-State Truck Show. From what I understand there were 300 trucks registered and the spectator attendance broke records.
We got home around 1pm yesterday and I spent the rest of the afternoon getting stuff unloaded, parked and put away (fortunately, all that kept me from having to watch the Redskins!)
It was great to meet a hand full of new faces to the group and spend time with all the regular Bolters that made the show. And, thanks to Artie's great work at setting up Camp Stovebolt this year, I gratefully accept my demotion to Assistant Camp Commandant and look forward to learning from the master in the the future. But I would especially like to thank all that brought provisions and to camp. We enjoyed lots of great food and beverage, great laughs and fellowship, I for one can't wait until next year.
I would be remiss in not taking the time to mention jackets. John Milliman knocked it out of the park in regards to the purchase and design of the ODSS jackets. They are great and I look froward to proudly wearing mine. Thanks John. I am sure it was a lot of work and I really appreciate it.
I guess the only downside to this event is it is really the last big truck event of the year which means Homecoming will be the next time we get all together again and play with trucks. Lets hope the winter isn't too harsh and goes by quickly.
This was just another event that makes me so thankful that I bought an old Chevrolet truck and a computer back in 2000 and stumbled upon the Stovebolt Page. You can't buy the fun I have had and the friends I have made since the day I logged on the first time.
