| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 | Here are three photos of the door weatherstrip retainer on my '54. (The pictures also show that someday I'll have to fix the rust in the bottom of the doors where a previous owner butt-head packed the doors with carpet padding to make the speakers sound better - - speakers that he mounted in holes that he cut in the doors. Padding trapped water. You can guess the rest of the story.) Reproduction retainers from The Truck Shop. > OVERALL VIEW PASSENGER SIDE> CLOSEUP WITH WEATHERSTRIP IN NORMAL POSITION> CLOSEUP WITH WEATHERSTRIP RETRACTEDNotice how the top edge of the weatherstrip lies under the retainer. The weatherstrip "folds" over the lip of the retainer. NOTE: This thread was lost for a while, I guess during the change over to the new server. So I sent the photos and info to Alvin in a PM, but now the PM has disappeared, but the post has returned. Finally - I sent it in an email ... success. I am posting the info after the fact to complete the thread.
