Steering gears used a special type of grease that was thicker than even 85W-140. I am not sure but I do not think GM makes it anymore. We had a big discussion on this topic a few months ago, I would suggest you search this site for 'steering box'. I will use John Deere Corn Head grease in my steering box when I go through it, as it is nearly the same consistancy as steering gear grease. | | |
