If Carter and the others know it does not fit and they are still selling them, that's hard to believe. Why would they do that? Hard to believe.
Lots of things in life are hard to believe, but I won't get political.
The truth is the reproduction bezels sold by JC and AC don't fit, I know, I bought one. Tim is right about the Harley Davison bezel; it is the same Guide series of tail light lens and bezel. I bought the HD PN Tim suggested and it fit perfectly and is much heavier and better made than the piece of s--t that the vendors are selling.
FYI, While I was attempting to make the POS from JC fit, I ended up breaking my original lens, so I bought the HD lens as well and it also fit perfectly and is glass just like the original and not plastic like the vendors sell.
And... finally.. I bought both off of Ebay as well. BTW, both were NOS Harley parts.
One last thing, in defense of JC, when I complained about the part they sold me, they credited my account.
