on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 566 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 566 | I have a 1956 Chevy 3100 235 i6 with a sm420 4spd transmission. This is my very first build.
The motor was seized up so I thought it would be cool to tear it down and rebuild it.
I removed the transmission from the bell housing and pulled out the motor.
Here is my problem. I removed the top 2 bolts on the bell housing and the two bottom bolts in between the flywheel and engine block inside the bell housing. I can not seperate it from the motor. The clutch and pressure plate is still on the flywheel.
Are there any more bolts that I need to remove? Since I can not turn the motor, I do not know what to do. Any ideas? I have removed the head and poured oil on top of the pistons and the guy I bought it from poured oil into the spark plug holes a week before i got it and the motor will still not budge. After I get the bell housing off I will finish tearing down the block on an engine stand but I can not get to that point. Thanks | | |
