Hi all,
I just purchased a 38 half ton, and while I may not have the ability to turn it into a show piece, I hope to at least get it halfway decent and be able to drive it reliably.
The frame and body are in not too bad shape... reasonably solid. It's a patchwork of original paint and recent primer, with rough bodywork and welds, but at least doesn't have any pieces falling off of it.
My first tasks are to get brake lights on it, get the seats upholstered so I'm not sitting on bare springs, get the rear shocks hooked up, and get the parking brake working.
I'll get some photos posted soon, and look forward to learning from those of you who are way ahead of me in this adventure.
