For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 | I'm getting ready to fire up my newest acquisition of a 1954 261. What do I need to do to get this to run? I reinstalled a radiator, starter, generator and will add a battery. I'm swaping out a clean carburator for the crusty looking one on it now. I'm not really an engine or electrical guy (or body guy, paint guy, mechanical guy, tire guy, glass guy or pretty much anything guy) I'm pretty sure I need to rig up some sort of ignition switch but have no idea how or where. Any help rigging something up would save me from swearing like a sailor in a couple days.
