would using rubberized undercoating beneath the hood help in the noise reduction as well? or is most noise transmitted through the firewall?
Most of your sound comes through the firewall and floor.
I use the insulation for water heaters. It's a bubble wrap material with a foil on one side and is white on the other side. You silicone it on and it works great.
