All GM alternators are internally regulated. There will be a post on the back of the alternator that will go to your battery using a heavy wire (10ga?). There will also be a connector 2-prong...one wire goes to 12V battery and the other goes to ignition (hot when key in run). Be sure to put a diode in the ignition line or truck will keep runing when you turn the key off. Some places sell the connector with a diode already installed, just check. | | |
