can some of the play be adjusted out of the '58 steering box without removing it from the truck?
drag link & tie rod ends have no play.
I can handle it OK up to 60mph but my lovely wife (the actual owner of the truck) wants the steering tightened up before she's comfortable driving it. (she drives our Model A Ford without complaint)
