Having finally returned from an extended trip out of town, I am ready for the final aspects of the engine installation. I remmoved the 216 from my 46 1/2 ton truck and replaced it with a 235 rebuilt in a local shop. I set thr engine to #1 TDC and set the distributor into the block, meshing with the oil pump. Presumably, this should result in the rotor pointing to the #1 terminal and on the basis of this I can wire the rest of the plug wires. Here is my question - shouldn't the #1 distributor terminal end up in the same position for both engines? The position that I wound up with for the 235 appears to be about 120 degrees (not 180) off from what I had with the 216 engine. Is this a problem, have I done something wrong? Appreciate any advice.
