The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Star type lock washers vs flat and spring washers

I have the nose off my 51 GMC again and about ready to reassemble, but noticed some stress cracks around alot of the bolt holes in the sheet metal.I was thinking of changing over to the flat ang spring washers.I'am not worried about keping it OEM at this point,but rather saveing the sheet metal,It's a driver. Any thoughts on this "Do or Don'ts" thanks
