What was not available until around 1954? White wall tires, or white wall tires as a factory option, or white-walled after-market truck tires?
White-wall tires were not factory options from GM until after Advance-Deign trucks. I doubt if white-walls were factory options for any Task Force trucks. However, I'd bet that people who bought in the 50s new trucks gussied-up-with-bright-work and with options/accessories would have the dealer mount white-walls before the truck left the lot
Then, as now: it's your truck, do what appeals to you. If I ever considered having whitewalls on my 54 trucks' tires (highly unlikely), I'd go with the wide whitewalls that were
in vogue in the 50s.
