By straps, I hope you mean metal "straps". If you do mean metal straps, PM me your email address and I will send pics. The bracket should have been permanently attached to the "checks", as they are known. If you have cloth or strapping, that is someone's Rube Goldberg. See sheet 114 of the Assembly Manual. If you do not have the original type door checks, put an ad in "parts wanted", someone may have some.
