DavidF is right about the single stage paint, especially metallics. The biggest problem you will have is when the blending solvent contacts the outer edges of the repair it will reduce the paint and your metallics will become profound leaving a silver ring around the repair. It will help if you spray some aerosol clear over your single stage paint, feather it out just past your repair and then apply the blending solvent to the edge of the repair, overlapping the old and new paint.
