I have a 38 GMC 1/2 ton with a 250, T5 (73od) 3.42 rear end, front disc brakes and power steering. The wife and I want to pull something like a teardrop trailer for camping, I understand some of these trailer weight around 600-700 lbs and I was wondering what kind of weight these old trucks could handle. I know if it was a newer 1/2 ton I would just hook and book and not worry about it. I just remembered my truck does have original overload springs and I am thinking about putting air bags on the rear too.
So do you think a 1000# (1/2 ton) would be doable ??
