Dan51, The correct stock location is actually on the driver's side of the cowl. Placement needs to be very precise because the mounting bracket under the cowl attaches to predrilled holes in the inner body panel. We obtained one of the aftermarket antennas and it worked well but it came without the template to drill the 13/16" hole (we used one of those stepped drill bits and it worked very well but you must go SLOWLY). We obtained a copy of the template. Check out
