If all you are looking for is a set that has "everything you need all the plugs and light sockets etc they are a nice product i was just wondering what other option where out there and what those kits included", as stated above, Jim Carter and other reproduction parts sellers have high quality, lower priced wiring harnesses/kits. Thy have everything that is needed to work in a standard equipped truck. They do not have a fuse box (you use your own original one, usually).
The American Autowire kit is an upgrade kit - not just a wiring harness. It provides much more than "everything you need all the plugs and light sockets etc".
Different harnesses would be used in different 47-55 years. Here are some for 1949:
