Thanks Bill, I read that too fast. I'm leaning toward keeping the original bed steps (they have been painted body color). I may paint the tread portion with another more durable finish, or go to the aluminum step plate. However, I see that 40casey still finds that a bit much. I have never seen them installed, so I am considering 40casey's comment carefully.
