Nope, the linkage and switching system is totally different. A passenger car starter will have the solenoid-type engagement, either 6 or 12 volt. I believe the starter for the Powerglide-equipped cars has a different nose cone than the one for the standard shift, and is very scarce. Use the stick shift car starter.
