Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 1,177 | Take the coil wire out of the distributor cap and put it somewhere close to metal on the engine. Then disconnect the wire that connects to the points. Turn the ignition on, and touch metal on the engine with the wire that went to the points and then remove it. This simulates the opening and closing of the points. Each time you do this, you should see a good, blue spark jumping from the coil wire to the engine metal. | | |
