My cab is the original 1945 cab but because it is a military pole setting truck it has a sliding rear window in it that is installed in a frame with 14 bolts around the edge. The slider leaks and rattles and I want to replace it with a solid piece of glass and thats where the confusion begins. Civilian late 40's rear windows as far as I know just uses a rubber gasket to mount it not the more elaborate bolt system I have. I've seen pictures here in the gallery of the solid glass / 14 bolt frame system on a 40 GMC. My question is what years was the bolt frame used and is it possible to use the later forties gasket instead of it? Are the earlier frame pieces and gaskets available as repops?
