The way the Side Lot works is that you have to meet in person first, THEN we create a Side Lot forum for you
The point is to get people together in person. Sometimes, it's too easy just to "meet" in virtual reality. We want you to meet in *real* reality. Otherwise, we could create a whole bunch of forums with little or no discussion going on in them, or even worse, a bunch of discussions that would be just as appropriate in the General Truck or the Greasy Spoon. You pretty much have to demonstrate you have 2 or more 'Bolters meeting at least semi-regularly, then we (i.e., the administrators) will create your side lot forum. We're not being mean, just trying to incentivize folks to meet in person.
Here's more information on how to meet up with fellow Stovebolters in your area. While we're at it, we might as well remind everyone that this is *not* a club in the traditional sense. This is only a web site.
