The Carter w-1 on my '46 was really crudded up. I took it apart and gave it an over night swim in the carb cleaner bucket. It is supposedly recently rebuilt with lite usage, but a lot of sitting. upon reassembly the truck runs markedly better. There is still some lugging on acceleration though.
I look down the throat while pumping the gas pedal and the port where the acceleration pump discharges sprays the gas on one side of the barrel. Is it suppose to do this, or is it suppose to spray straight down the barrel? Thanks,
Scott
