I would too. I've heard of a lot of people who've done it but I never have. I thought it might be fun to try. Back in the day when I was just a puppy I remember the mechanics mentioning that setting lash on a running engine was the best way. Many said they did it by ear rather than use a feeler gauge as well. In a worst case scenario if I can't master the wrist timing I'll just shut it off and do it the way I always have.
