GM/Chevrolet seems to to do that alot on various specs. I did just what it says. Tighten it to what yoyu "feel" is right. Better, is to use the torque value for the particular bolts you are using. They can be found on the web. I use thread locker where appropriate and have even drilled for safety wire or a cotter pin.
