| | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 82 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 82 | Question. Will a 47-53 brake pedal work with on a 1954. The reason I'm asking is because my trucks brakes suddenly got soft then returned to normal and I started to recheck the brakes. I checked them a few months ago and they were good then but who knows. Brakes are good but then I notice where the brake pedal (the part you push) is attached to the actuator with BAILING WIRE! The metal on the pedal where the bolt goes that attaches the pedal to the actuator had broken off and istead of replacing the pedal, the PO bailing wired it together. Apparently the bailing wire finally started to give way and the pedal doesn't transfer the foot pressure to the actuator anymore. I never noticed it before because it's right up against the firewall. Anyway, will an older model brake pedal work or do I need to keep my eyes open for a 54 pedal? Thanks! | | |
