Yes - the paint on my engine is from The Filling Station. I felt the same way when I sprayed the first item. It seemed way too dark ... almost a charcoal grey. I'm used to it now and it doesn't seem so dark. The contrast between the grey engine and the black inner fenders may make the grey paint appear lighter than when viewed by itself out of the engine bay. The photos were shot with flash, plus I PhotoShopped them a little, so they may appear a little lighter grey than they actually are.

I'm happy with the color of my engine, but I could have been equally happy with a little lighter shade of grey.

Tim Lederman's recent reply showed the "controversy" over the right shade of paint for Stovebolt truck engines.
