However, I did put the bushing back the way it was originally designed from the factory. Because of the way the wick gallery is drilled, there is no way to get the wick up to the bushing unless the slot is cut. The oil is in the gallery below and completely separated from the bushing except for the wick.
Kenneth from classic generator even offered to cut the slot for me.
That being said, I'll keep an eye on it.
