I bought a new throw out bearing from my local NAPA for my 45 1.5 ton Chev it is a US made SKF #N1086-SA that is the long GM T.O. bearing that I have some times seen referred to as an 1 7/8" long bearing which is what my original is. Here is the thing, the new SKF bearing is the same size and fit as the original EXCEPT it is 3/16" of an inch shorter. It seems to me that I could easily make up for that with the clutch adjustment but being as the thing is so hard to get at when it is installed I'd like to get it right the first time. Should I be concerned?

Second question, although it has some grease from the factory should I pack this bearing before I install it ?
