If it's not a full restoration but rather a stabilization then there is nothing wrong with plain ol Rustoleum satin black. Used that on some wishbones on my Model A and the carb leaks on it once in a while - it has held up great. Use a small roller, like 2" and a small brush...just get all the oil/grease off!! what ever you use
